Not losing any weight on Omad

I know this has probably been discussed before but I did a search and couldn't find anything. I am a total newbie. Been doing OMAD for 6 days with no cheating. I get a bit dizzy close to my re-feeding time, so I have used Jimmy's suggestion in one of his blogs of drinking water with a pinch of Himalayan salt. That seems to help the lightheadedness- but it has been 6 days and I have lost a total of 0.2 lbs
I am so frustrated. I thought the scale would move faster than this. Would the salt have anything to do with maybe water retention? I am not counting calories- i am eating the 1 meal a day during the allotted 1 hour time frame and then fasting the rest of the time.
Help!

This it truly frustrating, and I can relate to how you feel, @superpishi ! Some people seem to be able to eat whatever they want, and as much as they can hold, during their OMAD meal, and they still lose weight.
Others are like you and me, and our body refuses to give it up easily.
I think that there are a lot of factors. Since I am older, my metabolism is slower than it was when I was younger, plus my heart meds also slow my heart down even more.
Even with swimming an hour almost every day, and eating salads for the main part of my meals, it is still hard for me to lose weight. Also, when we lose fat cells, the cells can refill with water (how AWFUL is that !), so even though we have lost fat, we now have the same weight in water until the cells decide to empty out the water.
From what I have read, this is commonly called the “whoosh effect”, and it does seem to work that way.
If you are exercising, you may also be changing fat weight into muscle weight, and muscle weighs more than fat does.

What helps me, when I feel like I am holding water weight is to have an all-protein day, and not a lot of calories. it seems that carbs make me retain water for some reason; so when I just have eggs, meat, or cottage cheese for that day, then I usually lose several lbs of water by the next day.

Oh......I almost forgot ! Welcome to the OMAD forum, @superpishi, it is great to have a new person, and I love the avatar ! !
If you have not discovered it yet, the main page has all of the information you need to live the OMAD lifestyle, and there is also a facebook group that you can join, and the link is also on the main website page.

I am a moderator here, so if you have questions, just ask, or send me a PM and I will do my best to answer them.

Ok, - we've got movement people :)
Thanks Happyflowerlad- just experienced my 1st woosh effect. So, no weight loss all week until this morning (funny part was that I broke down and ate a handful of m &m's and 1 dark chocolate Dove Bar in the middle of the night last night)- This morning , down 2 lbs. finally. Maybe OMAD does work ;). was starting to be skeptical

Awesome news ! Sometimes, I think that my body is strange, too. There are days when I am not very hungry and do not eat much for my meal, and the next day, no weight loss, or even gained a lb or so. Other days, I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary, and have lost the weight again.
PLus, I read that it takes several weeks (or more) for our body to adjust to a new style of eating, so it said you might or might not show immediate results, and not to worry about it.

My biggest fear when going on a diet is the thought of "whether I'm doing it right", so it wouldn't be all for nothing. I've had to ask people who did OMAD themselves, and figured that it's up to an individual, depending on their metabolism. Myself I had to do jogging in order to start losing weight...

yes- still a struggle. I read about a 48 hour water fast- and i tried it a few days ago - had water, bine broth and a little bit of himalayan salt when i felt too dizzy- i only lasted 42 hours - but still- no weight loss whatsover . you’d think not eating anything for 2 days would cause you to lose weight - nope , not my body. so not going to suffer like that again - sticking to omad

I think that our age and health overall plays into this, too. I am having a MUCH harder time losing weight now that i am in my mid-70’s than I did back when I was in my 30-40’s and could just curt down on food and the weight would come off much easier.
I have also been having an issue with low thyroid, which slows/stops weight loss; so now i am taking a thyroid supplement and some extra kelp tablets in the hopes that this will speed up my metabolism better.
