Need to lose weight. Is Intermittent Fasting (IF) good?

I was always a fit dude back then around 3 years ago. My BMI was within the average range and well, I would say I looked really fit back then. Then when I met my current girlfriend when we went on foreign dating events we became quite careless about our physical looks and our health. We’ve been eating unhealthy food and it has taken its toll on me. I’ve gained about 150 lbs over the last 3 years through an unhealthy lifestyle and I truly want to lose weight. These days, I’ve become more conscious not just about my health but also about how I look. I don’t look bad especially since I’m quite tall. However, I want to bring back my old body. I need legit advice as to how I can lose weight? Has anybody tried IF (intermittent fasting)? And did it work?

I think Omad will be great for you. What have you tried in the past for diets? One meal a day is very simple and it can really help you with your weight loss. Probably the easiest form of intermittent fasting.

Hi Exanderace, One meal a day is a form of intermittent fasting, probably the simplest and easiest way to get into IF. I've been doing OMAD for just over 4 weeks now and the weight is falling off me; over 10 lbs lost. Make a start today and judge for yourself what can be achieved, your summer body is waiting to be revealed! :)

Well, I tried doing it last month but I guess I did it wrong for I am actually a student and I shouldn't be starving myself because I need to have a lot energy in order to survive long hours of classes per day. However, if you're not a busy person and if you think that your body can survive it then Intermittent Fasting is really effective. I've actually noticed significant results in my body after a week of doing it but I had to stop but I'll definitely go back after graduation because it's really helpful and beneficial. However, please make sure to visit a dietitian or any medical professionals that knows about these things so that you'll get a professional advice about whether it will be healthy for you to do this or not.

@fitay19 this is not starving yourself, you are actually eating, just not all the time. You shorten your eating window and because of this you eat less. As your body gets used to it, you stop feeling hungry. I would argue that when you are fasting you have clarity of mind and amazing energy. When I'm fasting I need about three hours of sleep. I love my energy levels when I'm fasting. I can even workout for two hours straight. I have crazy energy.Remember you're not gorging on carbs that slow you down and your body is using fat for fuel, which I think is more effective.

Intermittent fasting is a nice way of managing your weight. It allows your body to naturally use up all your excess fats for energy. But it does require time and patience. So just remember that there's no shortcut to results. It's all about consistency.

I've tried IF years ago and it was great to me because I had not so much time to prepare my meals and eat healthily, as well I didn't feel hungry.
What will say if the IF is good for you to lose weight is if fits your routine and if you feel comfortable doing it. The best diet for you is that you can keep doing for more time.

I believe and I've seen that all types of intermittent fasting offer so many benefits! You'll be doing a lot of internal healing which will eventually result in weight loss. The healthier the body gets the easier it is for it to release extra weight. You'll be detoxing and all the hormonal benefits will continue to prepare your body for more weight loss. There are a ton of things which will help with weight loss and I.F. is such a powerful tool. How are you doing with it??

I really think this is a great diet to follow because I don't even really see it as dieting, technically. It is more just a better lifestyle and I think that's what is different about it with other diets and I do think it is effective because even just with the first few weeks you could already see and feel some results even if they may not be as drastic as other diets. However, even if the more extreme diets are seemingly more effective, I think they are much more difficult to stick with and most people will probably just end up giving up on it and gaining the weight back in the long run, while with OMAD I think the effects can last very long since it's very easy to get back into even if you fall off for a day or two because it's not as restrictive and that helps a lot with self control.

I'm on OMAD now though before now I used to do some days IF but it wasn't sustaining because I will always fall by the way side after some days but OMAD seem easier for me now and I'm making it a lifestyle and looking at working with it for a long time.OMAD helps to reduce both cravings and lower calories intake to aid weight loss so I prefer it to other diets.

I agree. Some other diets that are too restrictive may work and they may even work faster, but the restrictions make it a lot more difficult to think about doing for the long term because eventually I imagine myself getting tired of it and going back to allowing those restrictions like carbohydrates and I will probably just gain the weight back. With OMAD you at least know you can still pretty much eat whatever you want, within reason, so it's much easier to do in the long term.

You got it,why other diets fail even with a determined heart is just the high level of restrictions and deprivations. It really kills the spirit of continuation and longevity. I have tried other diets but couldn't go pass few weeks because I couldn't just cope with it.OMAD is sustainable enough, eat whatever you want but have a eating window which is simple to maintain.

This look almost my lifestyle before I started doing Omad. It was never easy back then to avoid some starchy and processed foods. However, with the way that I have adapted to Omad, I have been enjoying taking just one meal per day within the one hour range. Quick advise is to always add fruits like watermelon and cucumber as a food supplement for it helps.

It helps growth insulin sensitivity and reduce insulin levels that can help to defend towards diabetes. Which means your body won’t burn sugar greater simply, it'll target fats to burn. Most of the people are sugar burners, it's far tough however essential to discover ways to become a fat burner.

Upon reading all the advise, makes me realize to try OMAD too.I should try this during weekend where I can manage myself.

I have just heard an inspiring story of Bogart the explorer who used intermittent fasting as one of the effective ways that he lose weight.

I think you should try OMAD, it may help you as it helped me on losing weight. I can say that it is effective as I already lost around 3kgs these past 3weeks. It may be hard at first but I can see that you are dedicated to lose weight. It is also healthy and safe since you said that you're a health conscious person. Also, drink a lot of water, it helped me a lot. Hoping this would help you.

All I know is Omad is type of intermittent fasting. Because in Omad we do just one meal a day, hence there's a cycle of time every time we ear. In IF, we focus on when should we eat than what we should eat. Doing Omad, is a great choose if you want to lose weight and maintain your weight. Omad is not starving yourself, indeed we help ourselves to be aware and discipline in regards of when should we eat foods. It's also important to chose your eating window right.
