Rice in meals are common in Asian countries and its essential to their daily meals. A good alternative for rice is bread, but either with rice or bread monitoring your meal nutrition is still necessary during diet.

I think so too. I'm actually okay with eating rice. I just eat too much of it. My favorite is fried rice. I guess it's also a staple food for other countries like the Philippines. :D

I am from the Philippines. I just wanted to know what diet to other people in other countries do. I believed that other countries don't regularly eat rice in their meal. Filipinos are used to eat rice in our every meal so that is the popular diet in our country. The no rice diet. How about for other countries? What do they avoid in their diet?

Hi there, I'm also from the Philippines and I try to eat rice every other day only substituting myltigrain or wheat bread to make sandwiches for my meals.

The no rice diet is very popular in every conversation in our office, specially to those who wants to maintain their figure. But I know how hard is that, and yeah, that's right, Filipino can't eat without rice that's why this gonna be a big sacrifice for them. The no rice diet sometimes is just in a conversation and remain in conversation.

We are not eating rice, actually, maybe we eat rice once or twice a month, we avoid fats, fried food, junk food, sodas, alcohol and sweets. We are eating healthily and make a lot of exercises.

I'm also Asian so rice is one of the things I avoid when I'm on a diet, but generally it's the carbs that people remove from their diet, usually, their staple, be it rice, bread, potatoes, etc.

Asians really like rice and it's their basic staple food. But I found out that taking baked potatoes (not french fries) is also a god option. In Europe before, potatoes are boiled and that's what they eat. I noticed that baked potatoes is light on the tummy and you feel good the rest of the week once you start taking it for breakfast or lunch. Just brake it for about 45 minutes, the potatoes cut in half and pierced with fork at the bottom. Health food these potatoes.

Agree. Easier said than done. I do have an officemate though who didn't eat rice for 2 weeks and the weight loss was really impressive. I don't think I cannot eat rice for 1 whole day. I can skip meals but there should still be rice at least a cup for a whole day. Sometimes I eat red rice if it's available. It's low in calories but not really budget friendly. :)

Rice is really not that necessary but since I am from the Philippines it is already in my culture to eat any food with rice.
But eating without rice is quite okay, look at people from the US most of them don't eat rice and all of them are mostly healthy.

I love rice also, and before, I normally eat rice three times a day. Now, I consume once a day only, just during lunch time. I guess I am able to get used to it. I was obese before and I focused on reducing rice eaten; it's very effective.

I tried no rice diet before. It was effective. I substituted it with sweat potato which has a good carbohydrates. But still my body was looking for rice so what I did was I bought brown rice instead of the white rice. Brown rice is rich in fiber and good for diet.

Take for instance in my family, rice is a very common food and it's always on our diet plan at least twice a week. There is this cousin of mine who prefers to eat rice all throughout the weekdays. Beans is the only meal that is completely excluded from my diet plans.

Wow. From what I am getting on the posts a lot of guys have made is that rice has become a common meal.We also have it in my country but it is not that common like a lot of Asians here are saying about their areas. We have various alternatives like potatoes and pasta.
