Has anyone ever eaten omad past the one hour mark?

There have been a couple meals including my dinner last night where I went over my one hour mark by 15 minutes. I will say that my cravings for chocolate kicked in so I ate dessert before my meal.

Has anyone ever eaten for a little longer than the hour allowed on OMAD?

Some people choose 2-3 hour window. I try to eat in one hour, if I can, because I eat at night and do not want to get too close to the bed time.

Thanks power for responding. How’s this lifestyle going for you?
I just started. I did two meals a day for a week and it was good, but now on the third day of OMAD I got a bad migraine, so I switched back to two for a while.

I have occasionally gone over the 1 hour eating window but I do it on my cheat day and I have one of those at least once a week or twice a month..

Hi Rudy thanks and I figured if there are days where I go past an hour I need to make note of the reason, foods I consume , and my weight the following day

I stick the system but I have a cheat-day on a week. In that free-day I eat what and when I want.
Hi there. Thanks for your reply. I like that idea. Today I feel like calling it a cheat day because I’m craving fruit. I bought so many fresh fruit for my family I was thinking of making a fruit salad for dessert but I’m craving fruit now and still have about 3-4 hours for dinner. Luckily I realize I’m craving and not hungry so I’m off to brew coffee

If you are having a problem with your 1-hour window then I guess you can stretch it to 2 hours and even up to 4 hours. When I first joined this site, I was really sort of shocked that people can do OMAD because that is fasting. But when I saw the 4-hour window, that gave me confidence that this diet is doable even if you are not that good in dieting like me. The 4-hour window can afford you to have a sort of breakfast and an early lunch so not much has changed if you don’t really eat dinner like what I am practicing now.

I have over pass the mark some days by 2-3 hours and I think it normal because humans are not perfect and we shouldn't expect perfection from things we do.I sometimes stretch mine to fit in my cravings and I draw the line when I need to.

A couple of times I have, mainly because of poor planning or getting interrupted within the eating window (ie. When I’ve had an unexpected phone call for instance). Other than that though I try to stick to the window as much as possible. It just works easier for me when I’m consistent (and maybe rigid!) with my eating window.

I do this sometimes but I don't really think much about it especially if it's just a few minutes past an hour. The only time I'd really notice it is if I went 2 hours for my meal time which doesn't really happen. I think a few minutes extra isn't that big of a deal, and if you really want to compensate for it then just have your meal the next day 10 minutes later and make sure to finish at the same hour so you can reset your cycle, but otherwise I think what's great about this diet is that the rules aren't too strict.

Most of the time, I don’t really even think about the 1-hour window. I focus on the one meal a day part, and different times I might eat that meal faster or slower, depending on what I am eating; but in no case have I ever needed a whole hour to eat my meal.
I think that if a person sets a longer window, and eats off and on for that period of time, then you are probably having more than one meal per day.

Jimmy suggests using one plate of food, and that is what I normally do, and this helps me to eat a balanced amount of food for the meal.
I have an eating window of 4 hours, 11-3, but that does not mean that I eat for that whole time, just that I have my one meal sometime in between 11AM -3PM, as it might not be the same time each day.
Some days , I will eat earlier, and other days, I eat later, just depending on what is in my schedule for that day.

Its just now that I have learned about the 4 hour window. OMAD is indeed fasting. But its good to know that there is a 2-4 hours window that one can eat.

Well, this is actually a normal occurrence for me considering I give myself about a two-hour eating window while doing OMAD. The fact is that I’m personally not a very fast eater. I like to enjoy my food, and I find that I just don’t have the physical ability to scarf down food—I literally gag when I try to do so.

It’s important to get enough nutrients in your diet, even while doing OMAD, and that can require a pretty big meal if you’re doing it all at once. Therefore, in order to compensate for the size of the meal, I also have to give myself a fairly long eating window, which is why I give myself about two hours to get in all the protein and vegetables I need to keep healthy.

Well, honestly I do cheats especially during weekends. I'm strictly following my schedule now unlike before. I usually just eat in that one hour eating window but when then demons of cravings kick in I chose to give in. I'm not strict to myself now not just like when I'm still starting doing Omad.

I have ever eaten by thirty minutes before the window and this I consider to be one of the moments of weakness in this journey when I obeyed my body. However, I quickly got up and continued the old pattern like I had not faulted anywhere which is the most important thing in the journey. Never allowing mistakes to halt you.

In my opinion, the best thing to do would be extending your feeding window to at least more than 1 hour since your craving for chocolates makes you pass that 1 hour mark.

If it's 2 hours or 3 hours that can be adequate for you, then set your feeding window at it, as every decision lies in your hand. No one fixes your feeding window for you in OMAD.

Yesterday we delayed in church. I arrived home at 2:30 p.m. My meal was delayed and I ate at,:3:20. What a day.

In the morning I was very hungry and I ended up eating three ripe bananas. The wrong time once more.
