When doing OMAD diet, is it wise to go to the gym? I mean is it okay to lift weights as normal people? What exercises should be done while doing OMAD?
That is good for you. Good thing you have those hobbies that helps you with your fitness. I hope to have a buddy while walking, biking and hiking. But dancing? no thanks, how I wished I can dance.LOLI think for you to lose weight faster, you need to exercise regardless of the diet plan you're into. As to what exercise you should be doing, it will depend upon you. In my case, I am not into the idea of 'workout'. I don't have workout plans because I'm into activities that help me burn fats while having fun. I'm into biking, walking, dancing, and hiking.
You don't need to make any exercise while doing OMAD, but if you can do it without seeing the negative effects you should do it, in this way you will lose weight faster.
Actually, it does help a whole lot to exercise along with the OMAD program ! If you read some of the books and personal testimonies about eating once a day, most of the people who are serious about losing weight are also exercising.I am not an athlete but I think lifting weights while doing OMAD is a burden to the body. Your body is not normal when you are hungry and eating just once a day will make you hungry even if you don’t feel it. When you do heavy exercises like lifting weight, you are subjecting your body to physical abuse. Just my take on lifting weights, I don’t recommend it especially to the seniors here like me.
This is a big encouragement to me especially with the mention of your age. I admire your physical prowess because I simply don't have it. Maybe I need a companion to do the workout and physical fitness activities now that you have opened my mind. All the while I thought that my age is already the relaxing period that we cannot abuse it anymore. Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it very much.Actually, it does help a whole lot to exercise along with the OMAD program ! I am also a senior (almost 74), and I swim for an hour just about every morning. I belong to the fitness center here, and swimming is one of the exercises that I enjoy doing the very most.
I plan my eating schedule around my exercise schedule, for the most part, and I swim while I am fasting, so that I can burn the most fat possible during the workout, and then I re-fuel my body once I am done swimming and back home again.
Since you burn body fat pretty much exclusively after a 20+ hour fast, the more you can exercise at the end of your fast period, the better it is for you.
I do not feel tired or have any bad affects from exercising, and it actually energizes me !
