That's interesting. I've read that too. That's why many have chosen dark chocolate. Aside from the better taste, it has lots of health benefits. Though, I don't like the taste of of pure cacao. Maybe it's just the one I tasted. But it was really bitter even after adding milk. Hahaha! The main thing which makes dark chocolate so healthy is the increased cacao concentration. This is why the more bitter the dark chocolate is, the healthier it's going to be. The average person eats dark chocolate at a concentration of about 45% cacao, which honestly isn't all that much. To get the real benefits, anywhere between 70-90% cacao is recommended.
I personally skip the middle man and just take pure cacao, in the form of a hot cacao drink. I mix pure cacao with a bit of coconut oil, peanut butter and honey, and stir it all together with some water. Milk enhances the flavor (as it does with most hot chocolate drinks) but I choose to use water due to a minor lactose intolerance.
We all do and I don't think we will jeopardize our journey with indulging in it once in a while. I sometimes take a bar for a whole month that's because I take very little per time.I love chocolate too but in moderation.I don't know if eating small bits becomes a whole bar. But I think I eat less than a bar. Sometimes I don't even have them. I guess I'm okay with not eating chocolate frequently. But I still like it.
