Best appetite control for Omad?

I have found that if you are hungry you're not getting enough fat and protein and too many carbs at your one meal I stumbled into one meal a day and I love it I drink nothing but salted electrolyte water maybe with some lemon or lime during the day and I could not to focus good mood control plenty of free time I generally eat a low-carb or no carb meal I can sit at a dinner with friends if it's not my eating time and not eat and even pass up dessert One meal a day has caused my desire for sweets and carbs to disappear. the key is adequate salt and exercise I am using Himalayan sea salt and a essential mineral capsule cracked actually cut open and sprinkled in water

I am starting to notice I don't like desserts like I use to. I had a slither of my son's birthday cake during my evening window and took one bite and it tasted funny. I usually love red velvet cake. I ended up eating a couple of handfuls of a trail mix I made up instead. I had banana and papaya dried fruits, almonds, sunflower seeds, some dark chocolate chips, pumpkin seeds. I actually enjoyed eating that more.

I definitely need to try and switch things up as far as my daily meal to help with appetite. I appreciate the food mentions. I am going to give some of these a try.

I take a walk every morning. This is what I consider my best method for control. It keeps me going and gives me something to do which keeps my mind off of food.

Hi Amanda! My preferred method that I always used was to stay as busy as possible. I tried to get out out of the house as much as possible when I first started omad. It helped to get my mind off of food and to not be around the kitchen. As far as foods that can help with appetite control, I wrote an article recently that you might find helpful https://omaddiet.com/suppress-appetite-one-meal-a-day/

Totally agree. Stay busy. Out of sight and out of mind.

I think one of the best method on how to control ones appetite during the omad diet is to keep your busy during the time of meals so that you cannot be tempted to eat. Eating with significant other will more likely encourages an individual to be entice of consuming food. Another one is to drink plenty of water before meals so that the urge of ingesting food will be pacified. Thats the most safest way on how to control ones desire for food.

I think there is need for best appetite or whatsoever technique to avoid that. Always take enough food at night before you go to sleep. Lack of food you in take at night was the only causes of this.

On the weekend I know it's hard to stay away from food. Generally on Friday I try to fast for 48 hours, this gives me room to play around with my timings during the weekend. Sometimes I will start to eat at 3.00 pm instead of my regular time of 6.00 pm. This may happen when I'm going out with friends, generally this will be my last meal until the next day. Sunday is really hard sometimes I break my fast and just get right on the horse the next morning. So far so good.

I don't know if there is scientific proof to this but I feel a lot hungrier during my fasting period when my one meal consists of a lot of sugar and carbohydrates which is probably why I am feeling like I'm starving on some days while during some I feel like I can go the whole day without eating. I feel this especially during times when I have had soda with my meals, even just drinking half a can made me feel very hungry during night time when I usually don't have much trouble with hunger after my meal. This is why I'm going to start looking into eliminating carbohydrates and seeing where that takes me and hopefully it will make me less hungry during fasting period.

When our food is not really that attractive to the taste buds, I would still see my husband eating in the normal way as if the food tasted good while the rest of us at home would be timid and slow with our eating. He said that the trick lies in the imagination. You can imagine to see nice food everywhere and it will spike up your taste buds. Now, I am thinking of doing that in reverse. When there is a craving for food, maybe I can focus on some unpleasant things like the news reports on killed criminals, the mounting garbage in the metropolis and some other things that will kill the appetite. I just hope that this will be effective for me when I go OMAD.

Drinking water makes me feel full. Also, I look for activities to divert my attention. Sometimes we feel hungry even if we're just bored.

I think this the best thing to do, make our self busy instead of keep thinking about food to eat. We should make our self busy while still not time for our one meal. We keep doing this until our mind become familiar to this routine.

To curb your appetite drink a lot of coffee or green tea. I for one prefer coffee because it's super effective in curbing my appetite, although I use some sugar and cream just so that it would taste better.

I find while I am at work that I keep water bottles, hot black tea, green tea nearby to sip on throughout the day. I add some apple cider vinegar to one of my water bottles or hyper-lyte which has electrolytes that keep me going. If I go out to lunch with a co-worker I order a mineral water with a slice of lime or lemon because my eating window is at night.

Hydrating is probably the most important thing to me. I drink a lot of water, green tea and black coffee and I find that helps immensely with dealing with any feelings of hunger.

I have noticed this same thing, @Kat , and I think that as we start eating more of the healthier foods that the sweet foods cravings are being replaced with a true enjoyment for plain fruits and other more naturally sweet and tasty foods.
I did about the same thing as you did, when I had a bit of cake for some occasion, and it really did not taste good to me at all. Now, I would choose something that is less sweet, like a peach or pear, and think that was much more satisfying.
I have noticed the same thing with salty foods that you buy. Since I only use the pink himalayan sea salt at home, I have noticed that foods with commercially processed salt don’t have the same flavor, and they usually taste too salty to me as well.

For me nothing beats drinking coffee and during warm days, I would make frappes or cold coffee drink. Also cold ginger and turmeric lemon tea. It's best to keep yourself hydrated by drinking a lot specially on hot days and nights.
