Wine and nuts

I have read a post in Facebook of a friend who had married a Frenchman. She said that wine is popular in France that she gets to have wine almost every day. Combined with nuts, that is a good way of cleansing the body not only of toxins but also of bad cholesterol. I don’t know if that has a medical proof but I have read articles about the benefits of wine to our body particularly in the longevity. With the nuts, it gives us protein and good cholesterol so I guess the combination of wine and nuts can be a big benefit for our health. Maybe that combination is good before having the only meal of the day.

You are very right. I do not like wine but I love nuts. Both wine and nuts have good cholesterol. This HDL helps us in our diet and rid our body of toxins.

I have heard that nuts are good for keeping around the house because they are cheap and one of the best things to snack on when you are dieting, although now that I know of and am practicing OMAD I don't really snack anymore. As for wine, I have been hearing for years that doctors do recommend a glass a day as it prevents some types of heart diseases and is generally healthy although I never really understood the science behind it as I never really got that much into alcoholic drinks but maybe I should start looking into possibly giving regularly drinking wine a try.

The only concerns I'd have about nuts is that they can be really high calorically, and it's easy to snack on them and completely blow out your calories if you're not careful. A small handful of peanuts can be a couple of hundred calories alone, for instance.

I love the odd glass of wine and have heard about the health benefits of it too, but these days I don't drink anywhere near as much as I used to when it comes to alcoholic beverages. I am hooked on green tea, though.

I’m going to point out the obvious, but it’s going to depend on both the quantity and quality of wine.

A cheap, commercially available wine isn’t going to provide the same benefits as, say, my homemade wine made from organically grown grapes, harvested from my own vineyard. Wine of that quality would be far too expensive to drink on a daily basis, at least for the average person.

Just the other weekend I was reading up on the benefits of red wine, and it’s recommended that we drink a maximum of 5 ounces of good quality red wine, daily. Drinking more than that, or drinking cheap wine, is actually going to have negative effects.

Yes, I do agree that it will depend on the quality of the wine. The better the quality of the wine the better the effect to our body. Well, in terms of nuts I love all kinds of it. It is a great snack most especially when I'm doing some paper works.
