Poverty forces them to OMAD

This is just food for thought. In the evening news on tv last night, there was the interview of the poor about meals. Some of them eat just one meal a day due to poverty. That’s a thought to ponder because here I am having a hard time to decide on OMAD while those poor people have been doing OMAD for a long time now. This is not to insult but they look healthier than me. This is a food for thought for those who are undecided with OMAD.

There is fasting in religion and starving. When one fasts it is for a reason and not due to lack of food. Starving is when one lack food. We do OMAD on choice but not forced. Those who have one meal a day due to poverty are not doing OMAD. THERE must be a name for it. Maybe POVAOMAD.

Yeah, it's sad but true. Somehow it's good to just have one meal a day, like the information here, we all know what the benefits of OMAD, but their situation is different. they don't even get nutrients from their food, most of the time it's just plain rice and junk food.

That is true, some people are doing OMAD for a long time just because they don't have what to eat, I know families with kids who eat once a day and the kids drink milk once a month, this is very sad.

It's unfortunate but I guess it is true because technically what we have come to find out with this diet is that our body really doesn't need as much as we were initially taught so comparing the ones who eat only once a day albeit forcibly to someone eating three times a day excessively will definitely have a big difference. I guess when it gets to extreme points on either side is when it gets less healthy.

To some extent, you are actually right. There are a lot of people on OMAD because they can only afford a single meal for themselves and sometimes for the whole family too. It, however, should not be perceived as pure OMAD because people who eat one meal a day because they cannot afford more are not doing so out of free will. They are usually suffering, and would not hate to have more than one meager meal in a day. Don't forget that these single meals in poor families are actually not even balanced diets. For instance, in some low-income countries, the only affordable meal is maize meal and some vegetables. How can one even say that is OMAD?

Well, that's life for you,we practice OMAD for a purpose while others do it because they can't just help it but I wouldn't agree that they look more healthy. How can someone that's starving of not just food but some good nutrients be healthier than people that eat balanced diet even though it once a day.I have seen some of these people,at least they are here too. They don't look better at all.
