Napping After my Omad Meal

My parents would always say that it is bad to take a nap right after eating. They said I would gain weight and it really happened. There was this week that I sleep right after my meals, I gained 1.5 kilos that week. It is advisable to sleep after 2 hours. I always get the urge to sleep after my lunch but I try to control it.

Just like I said, it is not that easy for me to do so back then when it comes to adjusting the time that I take my meal. However, it has really helped me to start each day in a great way.
It is nice that you were able to adjust fully and are now here offering us actual tips that are beneficial and will be great in motivating us on the journey. This is why I love this platform so much since it never lacks a source of inspiration especially even for fresh and better things.

This forum was actually my source of motivation to start doing Omad. I never knew what was all about until I became a member of the forum and this has benefited my diet lifestyle.

I'm having the same problem now. I tend to wake up 3am sometime 4 am daily. I try to get back to sleep but I can't. Every after meal I was so sleepy. It's bothering me because I'm gaining weight again. They said it's okay to take a nap so I take nap 30 minutes after I finished eating.

There is an interesting advise to me about getting back to sleep when I am awaken in the middle of the night. A specialist told me that when I got up to early, the first thing to do is to take a deep breath. Relaxing should be priority. But how do I relax when I am actually startled when I awake out of schedule? The technique he says, is to tell yourself what time you would have to wake. In doing so you set yourself to wake at that time. And if you wake earlier, the first thing you would probably do is look at the time. And since you are not fully conscious yet, then your programming yourself before sleeping would kick in. So you would have said to yourself that it is not time yet, and you would go back to sleep.

In a lot of cultures its normal to sleep after a large midday meal, so why would it not be okay in this case?

Though, I think you should be concerned about not getting enough sleep at night or having a irregular sleep schedule. Maybe try to get more exercise or not look at blue light (phone, TV, laptop) right before you go to bed? Not having a regular sleep schedule could be damaging to your health and affect your ability to drive a car, think critically, or your general health. Maybe look at what's causing that before being concerned with napping midday?

I also found out about the OMAD lifestyle the first time I came around this blog and it was an instant hook. It was an escape point that was much welcome since I needed to go on a diet for the longest time possible but I never really had feasible options. Here motivation is immense and so very likeable.

The idea is that your metabolism slows down while you sleep so your caloric requirements are lower while you sleep. Basically the calories you eat before sleep don't get used.
