My weight loss journey using OMAD

Hi Everyone!

I've started this thread to hold myself accountable to finally loose weight and reach my goal. I've tried OMAD in the past but never really stuck it through and always gave up after a week or two. I'd like to use this community for accountability, support and encouragement to take on the fasting lifestyle. I'd like to solely use Omad as my weight loss tool and adapt a fasting lifestyle mainly of 16:8 or omad for maintenance and lifestyle.

I'm a 31 year old mom of an 18 month old, height 5.5 1/2 and I currently weight 159 lbs. My goal is to be between 125 lbs to 120 lbs. I'll post daily but weigh in once a week every Friday till I reach my goal. Any and all advice, positive feedback and encouragement is welcome!

I'll be starting Dec 21, 2018
Starting weight 159 pounds
Goal weight 120 pounds

Today my omad weight loss journey officially beings. . My starting weight is 159.6 pounds.

I was hoping to have my meal in the evening today which is what I prefer but my husband ended up taking me out for lunch today so I ate my meal at noon. Interesting way to start my first day on omad as I've never had my only meal for the day mid day but hopefully I'll make it through.

Will keep you all posted!

Hi, @Zara , and a big welcome to the OMAD diet forum ! We discuss just about all aspects of OMAD and intermittent fasting here, as well as Jimmy has his blog on the main page of the website.
It is a great place to start, and he explains the why’s, when’s, and how’s of this approach to eating.
I read through most of the basic information and then I do a search when I am looking for more specific information.
There is also a facebook group for this website, and if you scroll down on the main page, you will see the links for Facebook, Twitte, etc., and that will take you to our Facebook Group.

When you are first starting, don’t worry if it doesn’t work to just jump right in with only one meal a day. You can “sneak up on it” if that works better for you.
That is what I did.
I started out with having an early dinner and then fasting until breakfast, which was about a 16 hour fast. Then, I stopped having breakfast, and just made a protein drink in the morning, and ate my main meal somewhere between 11-3, depending on how my schedule was for that day.
Then, I stopped the protein drink, and now I just have coffee in the mornings.
The nice thing about OMAD, is that it is so flexible, and can work for just about anyone’s life schedule.

So I failed at my first attempt...

No excuses the holidays got to me but I'm not giving up and I'm starting again today. The scale showed 163 lbs today which is a 3 pound gain over the holidays. I'm really determined to change my life and get this weight off for good. I've decided that I'd like to combine water fasts with my omad approach. I'm planing on going on a 72 hour water fast and eating omad for the rest of the week and start the same cycle on a weekly basis.

Let me know if anyone has tried to approach combining water fasts with omad.

STATS:
Jan 7 2019L 163lbs

Wish me good luck and I'll be back tomorrow with an update :)

There is NO such thing as failure with the OMAD lifestyle, @Zara . We are making a change in our way of eating food, and like any change, some days we will do a good job of adapting, and some days we won’t.
The thing to remember here, is that each day that we achieve OMAD, we are closer to our goal weight, or at least not further away. This is not like one of those diets programs where you have to eat the right thing each day or you have ruined the diet, it is a new way of life, and something that we practice and get better at each day; so just keep on keeping on .
That is what I am doing.
