Motivated by history

I'm on day 29. I started Fasting with my Church in January, and as I was praying I stumbled upon this also being a diiet and I made my way here. Honestly I think at first I wasn't exactly fasting as I had juiced a celery in the mornings, but even that breaks the fast so I stopped. I feel excited and hopeful. I am 49 and my last child has left me struggling with 80 lbs extra.
I was convinced this was the lifestyle for me after reading the history of eating. How in the past we ate once a day if we were lucky. Even my grandfather had this lifestyle but not as a choice. Which explains why my mother would send parcels filled with chocolate and other goodies back to the old country every month. Even my mother during her youth in Austria had little food. Yet here we are to believe we need to eat constantly, we are tempted at every corner. I don't want to be controled, I want to appreciate food again.
OMAD Works for me! When I am hungry I am greatful to know my kitchen has food, and that I will eat well. Sometimes I panic because I don't know what I will eat, if I will have enough food... but so far my fears are just panic attacks that never materialize.
So hello! I am happy to read all your comments.
