Fiddler's Progress

End of week 6. No weight loss this week! Well, I've had a busy long weekend with the house full of visitors and family. The sun has been shining so we had a BBQ on Saturday and a big dinner on Sunday, plus lots of beers and snacks.

Am I disappointed; no, certainly not! This is my first real blow out since I started OMAD six weeks ago. I started OMAD so I could lose body fat and feel good about myself and it's certainly working. This weekend was a lot of fun, but it's back to the diet again now.

Just a quick edit. The sun is shining again today so I decided to wear a short sleeved shirt. I delved into the back of my wardrobe and pulled out a shirt I haven't worn in years because it's too tight. A quick run over with the iron and it looks and fits a treat; feels good!

Those moments with family friends will always be there and it's important to enjoy every moment. Have to let your hair down once in a while! Glad you had good time. I had a little more than usual this mothers day weekend. Now back to it! It's funny....after over indulging I am ready to "not eat"

End of week 7. Lost just short of 3lbs this week. I can't believe I'm still losing this much weight with so little effort on my part. Surely this rate of loss will begin to slow down soon.

I had a couple of days off work midweek and went into town, I got so fed up of pulling my trousers up as I walked around that I went into a shop and bought a smaller belt. I now also need a belt for my work trousers because I look like one of those young folk who wear their jeans halfway down their backsides and show off the designer briefs

In case anyone missed it, there was a big wedding on tv yesterday in the UK. My house was full of family watching the proceedings with a large buffet spread out, lots of tasty treats trying to lead me astray. I think I was fairly sensible, ate a little to be sociable but certainly didn't stuff myself as I would have in the past.

This morning in church there was lots of cake after the special service to give thanks for the lambing season. I politely refused any cake but one guy asked why I wasn't eating. When I told him I was on a diet he told me he wished he could lose weight, but any diet he followed left him hungry and frustrated. I told him about the OMAD diet and how it's working for me; he seemed incredulous, but I told him I couldn't believe the results either. He told me he would look into it when he got home, then stuffed another piece of cake in his mouth. I guess not every diet will work for everyone, but OMAD is working for me. If you're reading this and wondering if it's for you, give it a try, you owe it to yourself to give OMAD a chance. You have nothing to lose but fat!

End of week 9. Last week was not a good time for me to be on a diet. Whit weekend is a busy social time for me with the marching bands; lots of BBQs, fish n chips and beer. I actually gained 2 lbs. This week I managed to loose 2lbs so all is well and we are back on track again!

End of week 11. Weight is now down another 1 lb to 143 lbs and I'm well into my average BMI at 23. Weight loss has really slowed down now and I think I'm beginning to level out at what may be considered an average healthy weight. My fat belly no longer hangs over the top of my trousers and I can bend over to tie my shoe laces without straining.

The last two weeks have been difficult to keep strictly to OMAD having attended a wedding, a birthday party and a christening. I am currently resigned to doing OMAD Monday to Friday whilst trying to eat sensibly at weekends.

Summer is upon us, I'm feeling good. Shirts and jackets that didn't fit me have now been brought back into service. One shirt my eldest daughter bought me two years ago never fit me. My wife told me to thank her for it but not tell her it was too tight to wear, now I can wear it and feel confident.

12 weeks ago I made a decision that I wanted to change my life somehow, OMAD was just part of that decision. Among other things that I changed was to stop shaving; yesterday I had to trim my long silver beard because it started to curl up, and I now sport a splendid (even though I say so myself) handlebar moustache!

End of week 12. Didn't lose a full lb this week so I gonna say I'm still at 143lb.

I've finally given up the pretence of carrying my bag to work which holds my butty box, flask and various eating utensils, etc. Also my wife noticed that I don't take food to work with me any more. I told her that since I now have a desk job I no longer feel hungry like I used to. I still haven't told her that I'm doing OMAD.

In other news this week: I have another wedding to attend; My wife informed me that I need a new suit. I was pleasantly surprised after trying on several jackets at size 40, when the sales assistant measured me and told me I should try 38 instead , and to think that I started OMAD 12 weeks ago because I couldn't fasten my size 40 jackets around my fat belly. To add to my delight, my trouser size has gone down from 34 waist to 32 waist.

Weight loss is slowing down as I get into my healthy BMI range, but I feel good and the tape measure does not lie. The great thing is, I'm not really on a diet, I've just made a small lifestyle adjustment! ;)

Awesome! I can't wait to start feeling the loose clothes. My problem is I always expect immediate results. I should be 30 pounds lighter in a week ya know!!

Same here. I wanted to lose a lot of weight in a short span of time. But I learned that it takes weeks to see results. But it's worth the wait.

This gives us a bit of leeway. Having those days is important. It lets us relax and eat whatever we want. That way, we're more motivated to keep up once we continue our daily meal plan.

End of week 18. I seem to have settled at a healthy 144lbs. My belly isn't entirely flat, but it's certainly not the big mound of flab it was when I began OMAD. Despite no weight loss over the last few weeks I can't see a good reason not to continue with OMAD, it's so convenient and fits so well with my lifestyle.

I may not be posting regularly in the future, but I will certainly pop back to see how you folks are getting along. A big thank you goes out to Jimmy who, without this resource, I would still be beating myself up over calories and diets!

One meal a day isn't a diet, it's a healthy lifestyle!

I'm happy to hear that. I'm sure everyone's glad to know you're doing well. Let's keep up the good work in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We'll get there sooner or later. Don't worry about getting a flat tummy. Just focus on eating right and staying on course with OMAD. It'll eventually payoff. :)
