Helpful Tips when starting Omad

I think you just need to jump into it, at least that's how I do it. The best thing to do is to be very busy that helps alot in my opinion, that's when you realize that a lot of the time when you binge eat its because your idle. If you think about it most people over-eat when they are home after work. When your busy at your place of work its hard to find overeating. I also drink hot water to fool my brain that we are actually eating something, I find that does the trick for me more than cold water

Every activity that is out in the routine of any individual is always difficult beacuse the body of the person is not used in doing it. So if anyone is interested on doing OMAD, the first that a person must do is to set a goal on how many pounds that an individual wants to cut off. Secondly, is to stay motovited in achieving the set goals because this will be a great help in pushing the an individuals to not give up with aims. Last, have the right mind set in following the guidelines of OMAD religiously. I can say that with this things any set goals can be achieved successfully.

Just as Shelly mentioned, this is exactly what I tell most people in the beginning on omad when they ask me about what they should eat. I think it's important to not restrict yourself in the beginning of omad because you are already dealing with enough change. Healthy eating is always encouraged for your well being, but it's easier to incorporate healthier foods once you have become adjusted down the road with omad. Healthier plates just became a natural progression for me after my mind and body became disciplined with my eating habits.
Veru well said sir. I just started OMAD and this was of much help. I will update my progress as soon as i feel changes.

OMAD has been beneficial for me for reducing my belly fat and also reducing the percentage of indigestion due to overeating. I used to take small meals and used to eat a lot of junk that resulted in excess of fat. Since the day I started OMAD, I started having water melon slices, once per few hours to continue filled in stomach and add water and nutrients to the body.

So, my regular tip of OMAD was to have water melon slices at short intervals. It worked well and I never felt hungry during one meals while I had proper meals at one time.

Honestly, The omad diet is really hard to start, imagine just one meal a day, but I think with strong motivation and if you really want to achieve your goal about your weight, there's nothing impossible. We really need to drink more water or juice to sustain the energy because we only need is one meal a day.

I think it's best to prepare for it, give yourself a week's preparation. You can do this by eliminating one meal per day, until your left with only one meal. Doing this would limit your cravings and would focus your system in eating only once a day.

Is it true that it's kind of torturing yourself? That you'll end up having an ulcer if you continue OMAD?
Are there any bad effect on your body when you start one meal diet?

I agree with Kat: "...so much tronger and in control when it comes to food. something satisfying about those moments where you don't feel like a slave to food. It's a massive achievement!" and Amelia: "...there's something satisfying about those moments where you don't feel like a slave to food."

Since going one meal a day I agree with those statements so much. I am so grateful. I have food addiction and emotional eating, but it got exacerbated by always feeling like I had to eat 3 meals a day plus snacks. It made the temptation to overeat or not eat the right foods so strong because I have a weakness for this anyway. OMAD is the closest thing I know to "abstinence" since food addicts cannot be 100% abstinent to eating. OMAD gives me control over my addiction because I just say NO to all food until my window and then I eat. Simple and freeing.

What's the right mindset when doing OMAD or how do I focus on losing weight? My routine was eat-work-sleep and more works.
I think yous should just have the strong motivation to achieve something on your body, and consider a lot of benefits while doing this OMAD diet, OMAD also included to your routine the eat, sleep and work, you just need to become more discipline to the food you eat.

Start Reding the advice from this forum you can start browsing you can start from the basic routine. You can find a lot of tips here in Omad and start to make not for your daily routine that you are going to do. And make a list of healthy food that you can eat daily. An start eating healthy food.

What are some health benefits of OMAD?

I believe OMAD has so many benefits! To me the best ones are the benefits to the immune system, hormonal benefits, energy, focus, detox, and the extra time you will have :)

These guys talk about many of the benefits too!

Hope that helps! Have you noticed any benefits already??

I wonder if sometimes we don't over think about diet. With OMAD you don't need to think or count calories, you just DO and the weight takes care of itself! YOU get to reap the benefits.

I agree! it's easy for me to overthink and stress myself out more when it doesn't really need to be too complicated! But I get it why it can be that way when starting out! If we keep it simple and listen to our bodies we can go a long way! :)

Do you ever switch to 16:8 on a day when you are socially obligated to eat outside of your 4 hr window? On weekends perhaps?

This has been tough for me too!

I like what this guy said "If I don't give myself the gift of some flexibility then this lifestyle might be very hard to maintain for a long time"

I've noticed that sometimes the less pressure I put on myself the better I do. If I force myself too much to do something then there's some underlying resentment and the thing I was trying to commit to doesn't last too much. I don't know... what do you think?

where did you hear that you could get an ulcer from OMAD? I've never heard that so I'm curious.
I think if through your eating window you're not doing harm to your body, you are actually getting healthier with the benefits of the long daily fast.

I think the first tip about gradually reducing meals is the most important step when starting OMAD. It is very difficult to stop habits right away, Reducing 3 meals or more a day to 1 meal is hard and it might even make you think of stopping the diet, because you'd think that it's impossible to have only one meal a day, when in fact the first day is hard but, it gets easier with time.

Thank you for answering. I heard that from my parents actually when they heard I am starting OMAD.
Maybe it's because of my older brother, he is so desperate to lose weight. He visits the gym daily, he eats one meal a day.
But he ended up in the hospital, diagnosed of having an ulcer. I don't know exactly about why he ended up with an ulcer, not sure what he did wrong.

Oh ok yeah there could be so many things related to it that linking it to only OMAD might not be accurate. Just my opinion. Hope he gets better there are a lot of natural things he can do to heal hopefully he finds something that works well for him <3

Yes that's what I am thinking. Maybe he forced himself to the point that his body can't make it anymore. Or maybe it is because of what he eats, I am not sure. I think it might be better to test yourself on the first couple of days of the diet, like trying if your body can make it. It's too difficult if one is forcing himself too much.

OMAD is a diet plan. With proper diet and exercise (or by doing activities you like - biking, dancing, swimming, etc.) you will surely achieve a healthy and fit body.

I agree. I went from eating in an 8-hour window (3 meals/day) to eating in a 6-hour window (2 meals) to now a 4-hour window of 1 meal and one healthy smoothie 2-3 times per week. For me, that is the correst ratio. Basically OMAD 7 days a week but 2-3 smoothies besides that weekly.
