How much weight have you guys lost?

hey everyone! Just curious how much weight you have lost in a 7 week time span following strict OMAD?
I followed the OMAD style of eating for two years. The worst two years of my life. I thought eating One Meal A Day was the best way of eating, ever. Something I could do the rest of my life. No foods were off limits at dinner time, that was my favorite part. I lost a ton of weight. Because I thought, like a lot of women, that taking up less space in the world is a good thing. That's what diet culture wants us to believe, isn't it?

On the OMAD diet I was starving, cranky and uncomfortable all day. On this diet, the pounds melted away. As did my health and sanity. I was at my lowest weight, and my lowest health.

After 18 months eating OMAD, my typical day looked like this: I started day dreaming of dinner the second I woke up. I spent half the day looking at dinner recipes online instead of working. I started dreaming about food at night. All I thought about was food. I didn't realize these were warning signals. My body was telling me it was starving. I wasn't eating enough. I was hungry. All. The. Time. All I ever thought about was food. I'd never been like this before. I was a different person. I was following the OMAD diet, hanging on by tooth and nail. (When my nails weren't cracking from lack of calories.) I was thin, fit, I looked great, and it sucked.

The warning signs were all around that this wasn't a natural, healthy or long term way to live. Duh! I now realize that the OMAD diet teaches you how to be bulimic (of the non-purging variety). You "starve" all day by restricting food, and then eat till you're overly full at night. Repeat day after day. Purge during the day, binge at night. This was my life as a bulimic, I just didn't know it at the time.

And when my body had enough, and I had ignored all the food dreaming and warning signs, I lost control. My body took over. Thank goodness my will to live (eat) took over. For that I developed a raging binge eating disorder. Binge eating is a natural biological response to food restriction. Put a bowl of kibble in front of a starving dog, and they will binge. It's called survival!

Humans are no more capable of controlling their food than they are capable of controlling their breath. You might be able to do it for a short period of time, but eventually, you’re going to start gasping for air (or food) as the case may be. (Words of Isabel Foxen Duke, one of my heros in recovery.)

I was trying to force my body to eat in a way that went against my body's natural signals of hunger and fullness. If you want to eat small meals all day, that's fine. If you want to eat a huge dinner for breakfast, that's also fine. If your body feels its best eating once a day, that's fine too. OMAD was not fine for me. Lesson learned. If I could get in a time machine, I would never have read the Warrior Diet book or followed any part of the OMAD diet in the first place. I hope this review helps someone avoid the same thing that happened to me.

Note: This is an edited post. I deleted all my glowing OMAD reviews from previously because this unhealthy way of eating almost sent me to inpatient eating disorder recovery.

My experience with weight loss on OMAD has been a healthy rate of around 1 pound per week. I have followed OMAD for 1 year and have lost 50 pounds. This was the result of being strictly OMAD 6 to 7-ish days a week, with some wiggle room on weekends and around special events and holidays. Plus I did an average of 45 minutes of workouts per day (bodyweight training, pilates, mat workouts...anything without equipment).

As far as weight loss over 7 weeks, on OMAD, my weight fluctuates wildly. I can easily go up or down as much as 7 pounds over a few days. So over 7 weeks, you may lose anywhere from 7 to 14 pounds, more or less. I highly recommend weighing yourself daily and watching for downward trends over weeks and months.

In terms of results -- the kind of results that don't show up on the scale -- feeling better, not getting sick, being able to do pushups and pull ups, wearing smaller clothes. Every 2-3 weeks something would improve in all of the above areas. I feel healthier living OMAD than anything I've tried in the past: Paleo, Whole30, vegetarian, to name a few.

OMAD is awesome! I tried the Warrior Diet before, which is very similar to OMAD, and it was too complicated. OMAD worked for me in it's simplicity and freedom. I plan to eat this way the rest of my life. Hope that helps!

Thanks for this input. Omad is the best diet I have ever done. I tried Paleo and whole 30 as well and they never worked out for me.

Thanks, I was wondering about long term (1 year) results! Great job on the weight loss, and sticking to it!

I started at 235 lbs, after 7 weeks I was at 209 lbs (lost 26 lbs), then I reached 175 lbs after 23 weeks, then I started adding "cheat weekends" (I just ate 3 times a day) and after a total of 34 weeks I'm now at my current weight of 165 lbs. I did 30 minutes of weight exercise every day and walked a lot during the first few months.

Initially, I had lost about eight pounds in the first two weeks. When I could actually stick to the diet, the whole weight loss process was going really well.

My weight gain and loss started to fluctuate after I started getting stressed out over certain events in my life. As we know, when times get tough a lot of us are tempted to turn to either comfort food or alcohol, both of which result in a lot of weight gain.

Thankfully I'm back on track though, so I expect the weight loss to continue.

I have only lost 2 lbs after seven days of OMAD, 3 lbs after two weeks of OMAD, I know I haven't lost too much but for me it means something.

About 10 lbs for me, which is pretty huge as I was already fairly small and at the upper end of the healthy weight range for my height. I'm happy that I've leaned out so much - I'm still within the healthy weight range for my height, just not at the upper end of it anymore!

When I began with some serious working out at the gym added to my Omad dieting, I shed up to 7 pounds in one week and despite the fact that I can't really say that it is the best stats, I always see that as working in the right direction as that enabled me to be aware of things that I do on a daily basis as well.

During my first week doing OMAD, I shed off 5 lbs. It was really amazing I felt a bit lighter and my stomach a bit flatter

This is also not a bad move to make as it is always pretty not easy when we are starting out the training. It takes lots of courage to change the way that we live in order to embrace a new lifestyle, which in my opinion is definitely worth it as well.

This is so me because I had this same experience in my first week of working out, what I noticed was my lighter body.I wasn't longer sluggish and heavy on the ground and it like the diet made me more agile and took away my bloat, because I used to get bloated up almost all the time and yea my stomach became a lot flatter.it really an awesome experience.

You got that right, the best part of this diet is within a week, you'll be feeling light and unbloated. Being and feeling bloated is one of my problems before, whenever I eat, even just a snack, I would feel and look bloated more so whenever I drink some beer, soda or even water. But with this diet my bloatedness disappeared in a week's time.

Yea,glad to know you have been able to tackle bloating.one have to stop taking soda and beer to see a positive result. This gaseous drinks aid in bloating one and keeping one away from achieving the desired result in weight loss.I only drink water alone and I take a cup first thing in the morning and it has been very helpful.
