Healthy Homemade Meatloaf

Meatloaf is a complete meal on its own, that's why I just love making it. It stretches my budget and I can even make it healthier.

Here's a link to one good meatloaf recipe....

Here's my take on a Healthy Meatloaf

1-1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 cup whole milk
1 celery stalk, chopped
1 onion stalk, chopped
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped carrots
1 Tbs salt
1 Tbs white pepper
1/2 kilo ground beef
1/2 kilo ground pork
3 eggs
1/2 cup Ketchup
2 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce
Some oil

Soak Breadcrumbs in Milk.
Finely chopped everything and mix into the milk and breadcrumb mixture.
Bake in an oiled pyrex loaf dish or a loaf pan, brush the top with some ketchup.
Cook in 155C for 1 hour or until cooked.
Rest for 30 minutes or cool before slicing.

Option: you can add raisins and chopped bacon or chorizos or sausages.

Meatloaf. I don't remember when was the lastime I eat meatloaf but thank you for sharing your recipe I'm gonna surely try this at home . since I'm starting to like cooking too.

I'm from the Philippines and we also have a local Spanish Style Meatloaf called "Embotido", it's different from American and Western style meatloaf recipes because we put in pickle relish, bell peppers, boiled eggs and other ingredients. It honestly tastes better, it's a bit sweet than a normal meatloaf and has a festive taste to it.

Here's the recipe...see link below...

That recipe sounds very delicious and tantalizing. I am looking forward to trying it, especially because I haven't found any meatloaf recipe locally. There is, however, a question that I would like to ask. Must I use pork? I don't really love pork, and I thought it would be good if I substituted it with some other meat like mutton. The problem is that it sounds like the beef and the mutton will almost taste the same. Do you have any ideas on other alternatives that I can fix in there? Please share. And before I forget, your recipes are really awesome, especially because you have this personal touch on each. I'll be waiting for your reply.

You can substitute ground mutton for pork. What's good about meatloaf is that you can substitute the pork with any kind of meat. We even have tuna meatloaf here in my country and it taste good but for me I like pork and beef or a combination of it.
